About This Project
Van Nuys Awning recently completed a custom shade project for a private residence in Los Angeles, CA. The installation featured a complete slide wire system integrated with a newly constructed wood and metal trellis. Measuring 27 feet wide with a 16'5" projection, the system was divided into five sections, each 5'3" wide by 16'2" in projection. To ensure stability, Van Nuys Awning installed two posts onto an existing pour-in-place concrete wall, verified with the builder for compatibility, utilizing a steel frame for added support.
The chosen material for this project was Sunbrella® Standard Solid fabric, with the color to be determined by the client. The hardware included aluminum tubing within the fabric pockets, stainless steel cables, turnbuckles, snaps, pad eyes, screws, and bolts, along with grommets available in black, brass, or silver. This meticulous setup not only provides effective shading but also complements the residence's aesthetic, offering a blend of functionality and style to the outdoor living space.
