About This Project
This project involved the custom fabrication and installation of one flat-top mesh panel and two manual crank-operated drop shades to create a comfortable, shaded outdoor living space while maintaining airflow and visibility. The flat-top mesh panel measured 20' 1" x 16' 7" and was fabricated using premium Textilene® 95 fabric in Tumbleweed. It was installed onto the existing wood-framed structure with seams strategically aligned over the existing wood rafters, and mounting rails were securely fastened to the top of the rafters for a clean, durable installation.
The project also included two custom manual crank drop shades, measuring 9' 4" and 8' 4", fabricated with matching Textilene® 95 Tumbleweed mesh fabric. Each shade was equipped with cable guides, spring snaps, and D-rings along the bottom hem to provide stability during operation, along with a 1/2" galvanized weight bar for smooth deployment and retraction. All hardware and mounting brackets were finished in white to complement the installation, and a white 4-foot manual crank was provided for easy operation. The completed system delivers excellent solar protection, improved privacy, and enhanced comfort while preserving the open feel of the outdoor space.
