About This Project
We recently completed the manufacture and installation of two custom standard closed-end awnings designed to provide exceptional shade, protection, and a refined architectural appearance across the second and third floors of the property. The installation features one 28' wide x 12' projection x 3' drop awning on the second floor and one 6'6" wide x 12' projection x 3' drop awning on the third floor, creating a cohesive and functional shade solution across multiple levels of the building.
Both awnings are finished with premium Sunbrella® Marine Standard Solid fabric in Equate Cashmere (#4709), a high-performance outdoor fabric engineered to provide excellent durability, color retention, and resistance to the elements. Each awning features a rigid valance for a clean, structured appearance, while the frames are constructed from U.S. zinc-coated steel to provide strength, durability, and long-term corrosion resistance. The frame and braid finishes were selected to complement the overall design of the property.
As part of the project, we also fabricated and installed fifteen custom traverse curtains designed specifically for the existing canopies. The curtains are approximately 7' high and were fabricated in a combination of paired and single panels to accommodate the various canopy openings and provide flexible coverage throughout the space. The curtains are constructed from Sunbrella® Marine fabric in Equate Cashmere (#709), using 46" goods and finished with 1.5 fullness for a rich, tailored appearance.
The traverse curtain system includes aluminum-finish traverse tracks and rollers for smooth and reliable operation. The drapes are designed to split at the center and feature automatic center connectors to securely close the panels when needed. Tie-backs are also included to allow the curtains to be neatly secured around the supporting posts when the space is open.
The completed installation combines premium Sunbrella® performance fabrics, durable U.S. zinc-coated steel construction, and carefully engineered traverse curtain systems to create a sophisticated outdoor environment that delivers shade, privacy, comfort, and lasting functionality. The result is a cohesive custom installation that enhances both the architectural character and usability of the property while providing the durability and performance expected from a professionally crafted outdoor shade system.
